Wendy Gasteiger Wallio passed away peacefully on Monday, May 30, 2022 in her home in Newport News, VA, surrounded by her family and four-legged friend, Baron. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dean and Esteleen Gasteiger. She is survived by her daughters, Tamara and Kristin; 4 grandchildren, Tyler, Katherine, Samantha, and Aston; her son-in-law, Tripp; her sister, Deanna Schwartz, and brother-in-law, Edward Schwartz II.Wendy will be remembered by friends and loved ones as a generous person always giving to those around her in time and gifts. She was thoughtful, caring, a little sassy, and fun. She was also a skilled seamstress, lover of the arts, had a heart for children and loved her students. Wendy could be seen walking her dog around her community with a pleasant word and a smile for those she met on her way. She was truly a great example of how to present yourself in a way that positively impacts the lives of those around. She will be missed.Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 19, 2022 at Grace United Methodist Church in Newport News, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Hampton Ecumenical Lodging and Provisions (HELP) network or the Hampton Roads Good Samaritan Fund. Arrangements by Weymouth Funeral Home.
