Weldon Lamar Wright, 88, of Vidor died Tuesday, January 11th, 2022, in Vidor, Texas. He was a longtime resident of Vidor, and a member of the First Baptist Church in Vidor. During his life he worked as an Engineer for Mobil Chemical and retired after 40 years. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a deacon for more than 30 years and a Sunday school teacher for 65 years. He was also a Mason and attended the South Park Lodge#1320 in Beaumont, Texas. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, he was a mentor to many people and a true craftsman. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. There will be a visitation held from 4:30 - 7:00 pm Saturday, January 15th, 2022, at First Baptist Church of Vidor. the Funeral will begin at 2:00 pm Sunday, January 16th, 2022, at First Baptist Church of Vidor with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Weldon is survived by his sons, Glen Wright and his wife Kathy of Vidor, TX, Terry Wright and his wife Carol of Vidor, TX, his niece Micki Loar and her husband Chris of Vidor, TX, his six grandchildren Dustin Wright, Heather Powell and husband Justin, Jimmie Wright and wife Sarah, John Morgan Wright and wife Lacy, Rachel Wright, and James Wright, as well as seven great grandchildren Jasyln Wright, Kynlee Powell, Avery Powell, Noah Wright, Quin Wright, Emilia Wright, Magnolia Wright. He is preceded in death by his wife Betty Jean Wright, and his great grandson Austin Powell. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to First Baptist Church Elder Care Fund
