Weldon S. Wells, 87, of Grapevine, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2020 at his residence. Weldon was born on August 20, 1932, the son of Beulah Padgett Wells and Teman Wells in the Providence, Tx, community. He grew up in Hawkins, TX and after High school graduation, he served in the U.S. Navy four years. He then earned his Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD in Education from North Texas State University in 1964. He spent most of his career with the Dallas Independent. School District. Weldon was a 32nd Degree Mason, a Gideon, and a 55 year member of Cliff Temple Baptist Church in Oak Cliff. Weldon was preceded in death by his parents, Beulah and Teman Wells, brother Don Wells, and grandson Bryan Wells. He is survived by his faithful and loving wife of 67 years, Julie Wells; sons, Rob Wells and wife Beth of Henderson, TX; Lyndon Wells and wife Karen of Bedford, TX; Bruce Wells and wife Cindy of Bedford, Mass.; 5 grandchildren, Mike Wells, Daniel Wells, Connor Wells, Mirabela Wells, and Damon O'Daniel; 8 great grandchildren, and beloved cousin Craig Lacy; several nieces and nephews, and a special Thanks to the Staff at Dancing River in Grapevine and to Custom Care Hospice. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 17, 2020 at 11 AM in Hawkins, TX under the direction of Croley Funeral Home, 602 E.
