Wayne R. "Bud" Specht Jr., 45, of Latrobe, died Monday, June 6, 2022, at home. He was born Sept. 21, 1976, in Greensburg, a son of Wayne R. Sr. and Avis L. (Peffer) Specht, of Latrobe. He was a Marine Corps veteran and worked as a sergeant corrections officer at SCI Laurel Highlands. Bud enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing and was a member of several local social clubs, including United Slovak and American Legion Posts No. 982 (Unity Township) and No. 446 (Mt. Pleasant). In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Suzanne M. (Karfelt) Specht, of Mt. Pleasant; two children, Michael R. Specht and wife, Keri, of North Irwin, and Taylor R. Specht and fiance, Lawrence Kravice, of Hickory, N.C.; a granddaughter, Elliana Specht; two sisters, Carol Karcheski, of Groton, Conn., and Cindy Dalton and husband, Tim, of Latrobe; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Glen Karcheski. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. William A. Schaeffer officiating. Military service and interment will follow in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Township.
