Wayne H. Rost

Wayne H. Rost, age 81, passed away peacefully at home on March 24, 2024 surrounded by his loving family after a courageous 3 year battle with cancer. He was the loving husband of Cheryl D. (Doll) Rost; together they shared 37 years of marriage.

Wayne was born on September 20, 1942 and was the son of the late William A. and Pearl (Hart) Rost. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp, before being honorably discharged. He spent most of his working career in the mechanicals industry. He was a Master Plumber and HVAC contractor. He also taught Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration at York Technical Institute. Wayne enjoyed flying, boating, cars, and shooting, but most of all he loved people. He was always the first to offer help and lend a hand to others. Wayne was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Victory Club, and Hawks Club.

In addition to his wife Cheryl, Wayne is survived by his daughters Michelle Wilhelm and husband Bryan and Christy Rost; his grandchildren Brianna McNamara and husband Tyler and Rachel Swalin and husband Tyler; and his great-granddaughter Hadley, with Brooklyn on the way. He is also survived by his several nephews.

A funeral service in celebration of Wayne's life will be held on Friday, March 29th at 11:00AM at Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc. of East York, 3670 E. Market St. York PA 17402, with Certified Life Cycle Celebrant Donna Hoffman officiating. The internment will immediately follow at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with military honors being provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00AM at the funeral home prior to the service.
