Princeton, MN to Henry and Martha (Bates) Meyer. Wayne graduated from Princeton High School and went on to serve in the Army National Guard in Camp Ripley. He met his wife, Eloise (Ellie) Walbridge, in Foreston, MN while enjoying their mutual passion of ballroom dancing. They enjoyed nearly 62 years of marriage, until her death in 2019. Ever proud of his military service, he went on to become the Commander of the American Legion, post 600 in Champlin, MN.
Wayne was a heavy equipment operator and mechanic, retiring from Barton Sand and Gravel in 1998.
Wayne and Ellie raised their four children in Dayton, MN, their home for over 50 years, later settling in Otsego, MN. They enjoyed many years at their cabin on Mille Lacs lake, making memories with their kids and grandkids
Wayne enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, wintering in Arizona and the Minnesota Twins. After losing his beloved Ellie, he gained strength from his family, friends, neighbors and church.
He was a committed servant of Christ, finding much peace in his faith, and his St. Andrew family.
