Wayne Legard Catron, 65, of Sabillasville, MD passed away on November 14, 2022 after a battle with cancer. He is survived by his devoted partner of 28 years, Carolyn Wershiner.
Born on October 25, 1957 in Newport News, VA, he was the son of Phyllis Catron and the late Junior Catron.
Wayne was a Graduate of Governor Thomas Johnson High School, class of 1975. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He was employed by M-NCPPC for 32 years until his retirement in 2010. Wayne was a hard-working man who took pride in everything he did. He enjoyed being outdoors, fixing things, gardening, and woodworking.
In addition to Carolyn and his mother, he is survived by two sisters, Sharon Catron of Frederick, and Carol Catron of Harpers Ferry; nephew, Jon Miller of Harpers Ferry; niece, Jessica Wallace of Harpers Ferry; and stepsons Eric Wershiner of Laytonsville, MD and Jeff Wershiner of Kingsport, TN.
The family will receive friends from 11 am to 12 noon on Monday, November 21, 2022 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, MD. Wayne's service will follow, beginning at 12 noon. Burial will follow the service at Boyds Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 19901 White Ground Road in Boyds, MD.
