Maugansville, MD - Wayne Lee Burger, Sr., 78, of Maugansville, MD, passed from this life to the next after Pastor Suzanne had read scriptures, said a prayer, and sang Amazing Grace with his loving family at his side.
He was born on July 31, 1943, to the late Richard Lee Burger and Gladys Louise Sellers Rohrer.
Wayne was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Keedysville, MD.
Wayne worked at Jamison Door Company for 43 years until his retirement in 2004. He also worked part-time as a bartender at different local establishments.
He was a past member of the Raven's Roost, member of Clopper-Michael American legion Post 10, The Arbor Day Foundation, and Jamison Door Golf Club. He was also a PSL owner and fan of the Baltimore Ravens.
Wayne loved his vacations to the beach, Disney, and Gatlinburg with his family.
He enjoyed attending his grandchildren's activities and spoiling them.
He also loved feeding his birds, watching westerns, and drinking his coffee.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Carol Anne (Reed) Burger; daughter Lisa Poffenberger (Michael); son Wayne Burger, Jr. (Julie); sister Shirley Stenger; sister Sharon Daugherty (Leroy); brother Kelly Rohrer (Brenda); grandchildren: Gary (Allie), Alexia, Seth, Jett, and Isabella; great grandchildren: Gary III, and Blaykleigh; special cousins James Harshman and Deanne Wolfe; numerous nieces and nephews, and his special pet companion Harley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Sandra Kneisley, stepfather Arnold R. Rohrer, niece Natalie Hadley, and special uncle James Harshman.
The family will receive friends at The Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Monday May 9, 2022, from 5:00-7:00 pm. The funeral will be open at 1:00 pm for the convenience of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Salem United Methodist Church 25 S. Main St. Keedysville, MD on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at 11:00am with Pastor Suzanne Jones officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Keedysville, MD.
