Mr. Wayne Edward Banks, Sr. 83, of Langley, SC, husband of the late Gloria Jean McCravy Banks, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 13, 2024, surrounded by his family while in the comfort of his home.
Born in and a lifelong resident of Aiken County, SC, he was a son of the late Otto James and Gladys Wheat Banks. He retired from Claussen Concrete where he was a Truck Driver for 40 years, before he retired. He was a member of Midland Valley Community Church of the Nazarene where he served in the Driven by the Spirit Motorcycle Ministry. Wayne enjoyed hanging out with the boys in the Has Been Club. He enjoyed going to auctions, Tuesday night poker games, trips to the beach, and was an avid Gamecock fan. More than anything however, he enjoyed being with his family.
Wayne is survived by his children, Wayne "Bucky" E. Banks, Jr. (Traci), Sylvia Kulp (Jason) and Lisa Blackburn; grandchildren, Amanda Blackwell (Seth), Cameron Banks (Savannah), Dakota Banks, Nathan Kulp (Kase), Brantson Kulp, Dawson Kulp, Nicole Blackburn (Justin), and Caleb Nix (Riana); great-grandchildren, Harper Jean Banks and Aiden Nix; sister, Joan Lancaster
The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to Brittany Woodward, with PCM, for her compassionate care during his final days.
The family will greet friends on Thursday, October 17, 2024, from 5:30 until 8 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Highway, Graniteville, SC. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024, at 11 o'clock at Midland Valley Community Church of the Nazarene. Pastors David Gallimore and Wayne Cheselka will officiate.
