Warren Hall (Rusty) Baker, 74, peacefully passed away July 15, 2022 at his home in McKinney, Texas.
Rusty was born August 15, 1947 in Amarillo, Texas to Warren J. and Jane Ruth Baker. He married Shirley Gill August 29, 1968 in Canyon where they made their home until April of 2016. At that time they relocated to McKinney, Texas to be closer to son Michael and family.
Rusty graduated from Tascosa High School in Amarillo and West Texas A&M University in Canyon. He enjoyed raising and showing Quarter horses as well as raising registered Angus cattle. Through his love of livestock he made many long lasting friendships that enriched his life. As a member of First Baptist Church of Canyon he spent several years teaching children's Sunday School. He was well known as a livestock feed specialist for Cargill, Pacific Molasses, and Friona Industries. For 13 years he owned and operated Town & Country Feed in Canyon.
He is survived by his wife Shirley of McKinney and son Michael Baker and wife Katy of Prosper; granddaughters Sydney, Brooke and grandson Wyatt. Survivors also include his sister Judy Belcher and her husband Rick of Amarillo, nieces Brandi Alarcon and husband Joe of Amarillo, and Tiffani Mackenzie and husband of Dallas; brother-in- law Henry Gill and wife Jean of Lubbock and nephew Randall Gill of Dallas.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Benevolence Fund at First Baptist Church, 1717 4th Avenue, Canyon, Tx 79015.
