Wanda Sue Mason, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to all she came in
contact with, passed away at the age of 86 on March 24, 2021 surrounded by loved ones and
being compassionately cared for at Ashton Medical Lodge in Midland, Texas. Wanda was born
on September 21, 1934 in Tulsa Oklahoma to A.H and Opal (Hensley) Lamm. Wanda married
the love of her life, Joe Mason, in Odessa, Texas on October 15, 1951. They lived a full and
happy life together in Seminole, Texas for 60 years before Joe passed away. Wanda cherished her
role as mother, supporting and cheering both her own children and all of their friends. She found
great joy in loving others including her church family at Westside Church of Christ. She truly
never met a stranger and made everyone feel like they were the most important person in the
world. Wanda loved all things creative including oil painting, gardening and wearing an outfit
with flare. She played a fierce hand of bridge and cheered ferociously for her favorite sports
teams, the Seminole Indians and Texas Tech Red Raiders.
Wanda is survived by: son Bryan Mason and wife Debbie of Midland, TX; son-in-law Dennis
Conner and wife Sandy Carrigan of Andrews, TX; grandson Michael Conner and wife Crystal
and their two children of Andrews, TX; granddaughter Jennifer Mason and husband Matt and
their three children of Midland, TX; and granddaughter Amanda Hays and husband Bryce and
their two children of Austin, TX. She is preceded in death by her husband Joe; daughter,
Treavah Conner; brother, Alvin Lamm; and sister, Mary Gansel.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 29, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Westside Church of Christ
with Brother Myrdise Durham officiating. Burial will follow at Gaines County Cemetery. All
services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.
