Wanda June (Atwood) Keith, of Littleton, Co passed away December 12, 2021. She was born February 3, 1938, In Abilene, Texas. She was the 7th child of 7 children born to Eugene and Emma (Arnold) Atwood.
The Atwood family lived in Abilene, Texas for most of her school years and she attended Wylie schools. She was active in school sports, playing basketball and volleyball, was head cheerleader, Growl Queen, F.H.A. officer for 4 years, and Wylie School Newspaper Editor for 2 years.
Wanda married Hollis Keith on June 4th, 1956, in Abilene Texas, where they soon took off on an adventure to Fayetteville North Carolina where Hollis was stationed at Fort Bragg with the 82nd Airborne Division. A career path eventually led them to settle in Arvada, Colorado where they lived for 51 years until moving to Littleton, Colorado to be near their daughter.
They had 2 children: Charles and Lori.
She and Hollis spent time traveling to Texas to visit their many relatives, camping, boating, attending sport activities and school activities involving their children. Wanda was a cub scout leader, on a bowling league, was an avid gardener with such a green thumb, and a wonderful cook. She could make the best chicken fried steak around. Wanda spent many years with other family members organizing and researching her family history. In 1992 Hollis and Wanda, along with several partners, opened and operated a successful business, Classic Metals, Inc., where he retired in 2006. Outside of being a great homemaker, Wanda spent part of her outside career in retail management and helped manage Hollis's business.
A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin and a reliable friend. Wanda lived in generosity and compassion and raised a standard for love of life and kindness towards others that will survive her passing in those who knew her.
Wanda was preceded in death by her beloved parents Eugene and Emma Atwood, and her 6 siblings, Winson Atwood, Leslie Atwood, Emma Gene Langley, James Atwood, Russell Atwood and John Atwood.
She is survived by her husband, Hollis Keith, her son Charles (Laura) Keith, her daughter Lori (Steve) Kraft; her grandchildren Charles Keith, Jared (Bethany) Keith, and Natalie (Nate) Lawson; three great grandchildren, Brodie Keith, Makenzie Keith and Priscilla Keith; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is reuniting with and leaving behind so many close friends, family and loved ones.
The family will hold a private memorial service in her honor. Memorial donations in her name to The American Cancer Society are appreciated, cancer.org.
