Our beloved Mom and Nanny (Wanda Anderson) 83, passed away from this life in the early morning hours of Sunday July 18th while surrounded by family. What joy there must have been in Heaven as she reunited with her daughter (Kim Gilbert) and husband (Dwain Anderson). Wanda was born to John (Jack) and Pearl Nichols on July 26th, 1937 in Big Spring, Texas. She married James (Jim) Hill in November of 1955 and together they had two daughters Pamela and Kim. She worked for Lubbock MHMR as a caseworker where she was committed to helping others until she retired in 1997. She was warm, welcoming, and loving and everyone knew her as Nanny. She never met a stranger and was everyone's friend and confident. She was predeceased by her daughter Kim (Hill) Gilbert-Reese, her husband Dwain Anderson, and lifelong friend and father of her two children, James (Jim) Hill. Survived by a daughter, Pamela (Hill) Herndon of Lubbock, 5 grandchildren, Cody Herndon and wife LeAnn of Waxahachie, TX, Casey Turbeville Hill of Conway, AR, Lindsey Carter and husband Luke Carter of Lubbock, TX, Jamie Herndon of Grand Prairie, TX, and Robney Gilbert and his wife Melissa Gilbert of West Richland, WA, she was also blessed with seven great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and long time neighbors and best friends, Stan and Susie Mathes. Graveside services will be held at 2 PM. Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Resthaven Memorial Park with Josh Allen officiating.
