Walter Charles Smith Sr. better known as Wally, passed away peacefully January 16th. Wally was born October 24th, 1940, in Straubville, ND to Earl and Esther Smith.
Wally was an avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing, camping, horseback riding, and just taking a drive. Wally was a great horseman, a damn good welder, he was mechanically adept. He always had a story or a good joke for everyone and for every occasion.
He is survived by a sister Carol Pischel (Gerald) of Beulah, ND, his children William Chapman (Mindy) of Longmont, CO, Charles Smith (Christy) of Rock River, WY, Walter Smith Jr of Rawlins, WY, Michael Smith of Cheyenne, WY, Kristi Reddon (Gerard) of Cheyenne, WY, Terry Smith (Kim) of Cheyenne, WY, and Renae Aguilar (Bert) of Rio Rancho, NM, twenty-five grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings Dorothy Larson, Duane Smith, Donna Pahl, Dale Smith, and Mary Lou Fick, four children Earl Smith, Sandra Dockter, Russell Chapman, and Teresa Chapman, and two grandchildren.
A celebration of life will take place this summer in Rock River, WY.
