89, of Honolulu, passed away April 19, 2022. He grew up in Ola'a, Big Island, and attended Hilo High, UH, and Northwestern Dental School in Chicago. Right after graduating, Dr. Sakamaki served in the US Army in Korea. Years later, he became an NU Alumni Regent for Hawaii. His love for travel took him around the world many times. He is survived by wife, Marilyn; sons Gary (Nuny), Derek (Joanne), and Mark (Kaye); and 9 grandchildren. Private services were held.
