Wallace Edward Kizer was born in St George 2/23/1935. He passed away June 13, 2021 in the home of his daughter and son in Columbia, SC
He was preceded in death by his parents Mary Wallace Jones Kizer and his father Cecil Edwards Kizer (June) a brother Larry W. Kizer and granddaughter Taylor Renee Kizer.
He served two years in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Japan after graduating high school. He earned a bachelor's degree in Industrial Education at Clemson University and a master's degree at Appalachian State in Master of Arts. He taught industrial art classes, was a principal/director at several vocational schools in SC including Spring Valley.
He served on the Historical Society of St. George and was instrumental in getting information for two books 'Memorial Stones' and 'Upper Dorchester County, A few of the Pass' He was also responsible for a historical marker being place in front of the original High School and Grade School at the corner of Raysor and Ridge Street in St George.
He is survived by his longtime companion Alice Thompson of Columbia, sister Barbara Kizer Szucs
(Zoltan) of Ohio, his daughter Hope Kizer of Columbia, son Travis Kizer of Lexington and grandchildren Andria Palu (Devin) of Sumter, SC, Mary Ashley Wentz of Columbia Anna Kizer of Aiken, SC., two nieces Ildi Szucs and Niki Myers of Ohio and three great nieces.

The children of Mr. Kizer would like to thank Amedisys Hospice, Diane Porter and Allen Baker for their help in making the last days of their father's life peaceful at home with his children.
A memorial service will be held at Bryant Funeral Home in St. George, SC at a later time.
