Wade W. Watson, 89, husband of Carolyn B. Watson, of Summerville, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 13, 2021.
A graveside Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 18, 2021, at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery, in Moore, SC for his immediate family members. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date for all family and friends, during safer health conditions.
Wade graduated from the University of South Carolina and had a career in sales, marketing and sales management with Deluxe Corporation. He was a dedicated husband, father and church deacon. He was ordained in 1970 at First Baptist Church of Slidell, LA, serving also in Houston, TX, Jamestown, NC and Summerville, SC. He enjoyed golf, yard work, family trips to the beach, talking to and keeping up with family, neighbors and friends. He served in the Army National Guard from 1950 until 1958.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years and 3 sons: Wade W. Watson, Jr. (Janet & son Sam), Grandson Wade W. Watson III, of Thunderbolt, GA; John H. Watson (Lori), Grandson John Charles Watson, of Columbia, SC; and Timothy D. Watson of Columbia, SC; 3 sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Jesse Samuel Watson, Sarina Hill Watson, 6 brothers and 2 sisters.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Summerville Baptist Church (417 Central Ave., Summerville, SC 29483), Community Missions Committee or the charity of your choice.
