Mrs. Vivian Patterson Dobbs, age 67 of Stockbridge, GA and loving wife of Mr. Jerry E. Dobbs, transitioned into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 12, 2021.
Vivian was born in Flippen, GA on June 12, 1953. She attended school in Henry County and was a graduate of Stockbridge High School. She was a straight A student, Beta Club member, as well as a star basketball player. Vivian went on to become a computer analyst for the federal government by way of the United States Army. She was well celebrated and recognized for her award-winning service over a thirty-three year tenure before her retirement in 2011. From childhood through most of her adult life, she was a member of Hemphill Presbyterian Church. In later years, Vivian's church home became Faith Presbyterian Church in McDonough, GA. Vivian met and married her love of 42 years, Mr. Jerry E. Dobbs, and together they built a life of love and devotion to one another. She adored her husband and children, John and Jason, along with extended and church family. Vivian also enjoyed gardening and all types of flowers, canning, as well as cooking for her family and friends. She was a remarkable woman who was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her.
Vivian was preceded in death by her mother, Ms. Martha Jane Johnson. She leaves to cherish her memory, her dad, Mr. Zack Berry; a loving husband, Mr. Jerry E. Dobbs; two children, John McDonald, Jr. (Jennifer), Jason McDonald; step-daughter, Carly Borchelt (Nathan); three grandchildren, Luke McDonald, Karis Borchelt, and Caleb Borchelt; two sisters, Theresa Thompson (Lars) and Christina Ross (Tommy); four nieces, Kelli Burns (Brian), Lindy Black (John), Staci Wilburn (Josh), and Tiffany Fowler (Jason); and a host of extended family, church members and friends.
