Virginia Vivian Wentland, age 76, of Clarksville, passed away March 23, 2022, at U.T. of Tyler. Virginia was born May 28, 1946, in Karluk, Alaska, she was Alaskan Native and English. She graduated from Kodiak High in 1964. She moved to Seattle, Washington living as a nanny while attending secretarial school. After completing her courses she returned to Kodiak, Alaska. She met her husband Walt Wentland and they were married December 1968. They had two daughters, Ginnelle and Dawn. The family moved to Washington State. Virginia's passion was gardening. She completed a master Gardener program at the University of Washington. She put her skills to use creating large, bountiful gardens every year. She shared her joy of gardening with many friends. After her husband Walt passed, Virginia went back to school and completed an associates degree. She began a career in bookkeeping. She had many friends and with her ever present smile made more friends along her travels. She visited 20 plus countries, photographing the wonders she found, always sending postcards from far away to her grandchildren. She moved to Texas near her daughter Ginnelle and enjoyed being near her grandchildren. She was loved and will always be missed by her family. Virginia was preceded in death by her father and mother, Dal and Anne Valley; her husband, Walt Wentland, her sisters, Tessie Keaveny and May Halmsteiner and her brother, Perry Valley.
She leaves behind her daughters, Ginnelle Czarneckiand husband, Berry of Clarksville and Dawn Blankenship and husband, Scott of Boseman, Montana; her grandchildren Allisann Lashley, Jacob Czarnecki, Katrina Czarnecki, Tyler Blankenship and Savannah Blankenship; 5 great grandchildren; her brothers, Danny, Howard and Jerry Valley; her sister, Carol Valley; her companion Jake Yokum and many, many friends.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Virginia will be laid to rest, at a later date, in Alaska.
