Virginia Turner, age 85, of Canton passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at her residence.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at the Sosebee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Lee Gaddis and Mr. Jody Honea officiating. Interment will follow in Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Sunday one hour prior to the funeral service.
Virginia was very active, she was kind, generous and would do anything for anyone. She loved playing cards, sports, fishing and traveling, especially to her second home in Florida. Virginia enjoyed watching her favorite t.v. shows, I Love Lucy and the Golden Girls. She loved playing and wrestling with her grandchildren, she was "Fearless"; her favorite quote was "Would you like a knuckle sandwich". Virginia was an animal lover, especially her dog Hank. She liked playing slot machines and being everyone's "Granny". Virginia was a true "One of a Kind" and will be missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Turner; daughter, Judy Pickens; and siblings, Bessie Covington, Buddy Freeman, Howard Freeman and Horace Freeman; and aunt, Clara Belle Gunter. Virginia is survived by her children, Connie M. Honea and Michael Turner; grandchildren, Jody Honea, Julie Coker (Stan), Jeffrey Honea and Teri Lattero; great-grandchildren, Carson, Tanner, Joseph, Anna (Brandon), Luigi, Biagio and Sebrina; great-great granddaughter, Hayley; sister, Jeanette "Netta" McManus; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many beloved friends.
