Virginia Polich Stare passed away on November 6, 2021, at the age of 97. She was born on 4-24-24 and had been living the past nine years near her son in Dallas. She grew up in Black Eagle, Mt., earned her bachelors degree in education from College of Great Falls and did graduate work at Eastern Washington University. When in college she was voted the campus queen and was actually invited to go to the Miss America Pageant. Virginia retired from teaching at Finch Elementary in Spokane, WA.
Virginia loved to travel and volunteer. She was president of Altrusa, Business and Professional Women, and Spokane Symphony Associates, as well as volunteering at public television. She is survived by her son, Patrick Stare (Lois) in Dallas, granddaughter, Stephanie in NYC, grandson, Cameron in Indianapolis, and brother, Jerry Polich in Wichita, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Amelia Polich. Her family is planning a memorial this summer for her in her hometown in Montana.
