Virginia Pena, age 70, of Lubbock was taken home on October 2, 2022. Virginia was born on September 12, 1952 in Seguin, TX to Felix and Lorenza Vasquez. She met her spouse, Jose DeLeon, in 1973 and the two spent 49 years together. Virginia took tremendous pride in her work, devoting 26 years of her life to working as a nurse's aide. The simple pleasures in life brought great joy to Virginia. She rarely missed an opportunity to play Bingo, loved all things Betty Boop, and was a true crime enthusiast. But most importantly, Virginia will be remembered for the fierce, unconditional love she had for her family. She was a generous and selfless woman, always ready and willing to help those in need. She will be profoundly missed.
Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Lorenza Vasquez; her brothers, Manuel Vasquez and John Earl Vasquez; and a daughter in law, Leslie Goto.
Virginia leaves to cherish her memory, her spouse, Jose DeLeon; daughter Christina Pena and son in law, Gilbert Delafuentes II; daughter Rachel Hernandez; son Jimmy Roy Vasquez; son Richard Pena and daughter in law Laurie Martinez; as well as 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
