Virginia Anne Parker, 77 of Kennedyville, MD passed away on March 18, 2022 at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Ginny was born on December 23, 1944 in Gates Head, England, daughter of the late Robert B. Williamson (who was killed on Normandy Beach on June 6, 1944) and Isobel Williamson. At the age of 13 she and her mother immigrated to Arizona (thanks to the efforts of Sen. Barry Goldwater). She graduated from University of Arizona, where she met her future husband Thomas Alan Parker and they were married on July 5, 1967. Her husband was serving in the Air Force and they moved to Cape Canaveral,. FL for several years and in 1969 moved to Hawaii where she obtained her masters in Speech Therapy. They were transferred to Massachusetts where their son, Bryan Thomas was born, and before he was 2 they were transferred to Kaiserslautern, Germany and their second son Barry Robert was born. In 1980 they returned to Ft. Meade where Ginny began her 32 years career as a Speech Therapist with the Howard County Public Schools. In 1982 they purchased a home in Kennedyville, making it the full-time residence in 2006.
Ginny served as Vice Commander of EDER-George Post 85, the 29th Division Association.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Thomas Parker in 2020.
Ginny is survived by her sons, Bryan (Leslie) of South Riding, VA and Barry of Columbia, MD and 3 grandchildren, Logan, Kaylee and Caleb.
A funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 21 at 11 am at the Presbyterian Church of Chestertown.
