Early in her practice she worked in oil and gas and then served as a public defender. She was an administrative judge for the Mississippi Workers' Compensation Commission for two decades, a job she loved. She was a graduate of the National Judicial College, Reno, Nevada; a member of the Mississippi Bar, the Administrative Law and Workers' Compensation Section, and the Mississippi Women Lawyers Association. In 2018 she was elected as a Fellow of the Mississippi Bar Foundation.
Her community involvement included being in the Junior League, supporting the Mississippi Book Festival and the Mississippi Museum of Art, along with other nonprofit and philanthropical endeavors. She was a member of the Gallery Guild, the High Noon Luncheon Club, the Research Club, the DAR, the Colonial Dames, among others. She loved to read and enjoyed her time in a book club. Most important to her was her work as chairman of the Board of Governors for the Wilson Research Foundation and her membership on the Board of Trustees for the Methodist Rehabilitation Center. She was named Volunteer of the Year by Goodwill Industries in 2022.
Ginny was well loved, and she will be missed by her family and scores of friends.
