Virginia Gragg Watson, 80, of Duncanville, Texas died at CC Young rehabilitation home on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 of congestive heart failure. She is survived by her loving son, Scott Gragg Watson: her brother, Joe Gragg, Jr. and his wife, Nan Gragg of Midlothian, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Fremont Watson of Duncanville, Texas.
A native of Dallas, Ginny was born December 20, 1940 to Mildred and Willard Gragg. She attended public schools in Dallas and was a graduate of Sunset High School. Ginny earned degrees from both Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri and Southern Methodist University. After graduation she worked for the American Red Cross and then became a fulltime wife and mother. She loved to go on walks with her son and loved to visit a local park and enjoy all the wildlife. She was a lifelong advocate for the environment, women's rights, and a lover of animals. She was also a strong proponent of organ donation. She devoted her life to her family and especially to her son who will miss her terribly. She was the light of his life.
Visitation will be at Jaynes Memorial Chapel in Duncanville on Monday, March 22nd from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A graveside service will be held at 9:30 am, Tuesday, March 23rd, at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the American Heart Association, the Alzheimer's Association or the charity of your choice and in Ginny's memory urges the advocacy of organ donation awareness.
