Mrs. Virginia Inman Carswell, 79, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Pilot Mountain on August 19, 1938, to Ernest E. and Cora Simmons Inman. She was a member of Wake Forest Baptist Church. She retired from RJR International and recently retired from her position as church secretary at Burkhead United Methodist Church, where she thoroughly enjoyed serving the members. Our "GinGin," as she was best known, considered the greatest pleasure in her life was time well spent with her family. She was a loving and devoted sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and for that reason, she was deeply loved in return. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Guy H. Carswell, and stepson Guy T. Carswell. She is survived by her son William Dale Marshall (Tammy) of Wilmington; daughter Cynthia M. Johannes (Bill) of Greenville, SC; stepson Michael H. Carswell of Winston-Salem; brother Bill Inman (Joan) of Mount Airy; and sister Joy I. Adams of Austin, TX. She is also survived by three granddaughters, Elizabeth M. Hanson (Tim), Laura M. Smith (Rick) and Christina J. Griswold (Chris); two grandsons Joseph Johannes (Lindsay) and Jordan Marshall (Jennifer); thirteen great-grandchildren; four nephews and one niece. A celebration of Ginny's life will be held at 1 p.m. at Burkhead United Methodist Church, Winston-Salem, on Saturday, March 24, 2018, with Rev. Dr. Carl L. Manuel, Jr., and Rev. Kathie Sherrill. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children – Greenville, Office of Development, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
