It is with great sadness that we announce the passing our wife, daughter and sister, Virginia G. Van Domselaar on September 2, 2022.
Virginia was born on June 9, 1964 in Alice, Texas to Jose Luna Perez and Sagrario Gonzalez Perez. Virginia graduated from St. Joseph's Academy in Brownsville. She received her Bachelor's of Arts Degree from The University of Texas Pan American.
Virginia retired from the Texas Health and Human Services Agency after 23 years of service. Virginia continued her work of service by volunteering in many organizations in her community. She was a past member of the McAllen Child Study Club, Junior League of McAllen, American Association of University Women, International Museum of Art and Science Volunteer, a parishioner of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, assisted with the CCD classes, distribution of food and necessities to the homeless, and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Virginia also volunteered at the Mission Hospital gift ship where she was recognized for completing 100 hours of service.
When Virginia was not busy with her community and church organizations she enjoyed gourmet cooking, gardening, reading and spending time at the beach. She was also a friend, fan and follower of The Del Castillo Rock Band.
Virginia loved her Schnauzers and was a "Mom" to five over the course of her life. Her current fur baby, Heidi, will miss her very much.
Virginia is survived by her husband, Eric Peter Van Domselaar; father: Jose L. Perez, mother: Sagrario G. Perez; sisters: Oralia Cantu, Barbara Perez, Laura McNulty (Thomas), Jo Ann P. Baiz (Sergio), Sandy Liza Andaverde (Mario), Arturo Cantu and numerous nieces and nephews and two grandnephews.
Visitation will be on Saturday, September 3, 2022 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm with a 7:00pm rosary at Kreidler Funeral Home in McAllen. Inurnment of ashes will be at The Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission at a later date.
