Mrs. Virginia Crapse DeLoache, (102) of the Lena Community near Estill, died Friday September 30, 2022 at the John Edward Harter Nursing Center in Fairfax. She was the widow of Marion Wilson DeLoache Sr., the love of her life and was married March 11, 1939.
Born in Lena August 22, 1920, she was the daughter of Guy Hoyt Crapse and Bena Long Crapse. Mrs. DeLoache graduated from Estill High School in 1937 and was employed as a Telephone Operator, and Bookkeeper, and had worked with her sister Lillian Thomas at Hampton Furniture and Gas Company until her mid-90s. She was a member of Lawtonville Baptist Church, and Enjoyed Nascar, Genealogy, Flowers/Gardening, Cooking and Baking, along with Clemson Sports. Cooking soup and Cornbread for the Shut-ins of her community, and served on many committees at church.
Surviving are: Sister: Lillian Thomas of Hampton; Grandchildren: Laura Helen Duncan and husband Tony, and Joseph Wilson DeLoach; Four Great Grandchildren: Lauryn DeLoach, Brittany DeLoach, Taylor Pearson, and Tristan Duncan; Two Great Great Grandchildren: Layla DeLoach and Lainey DeLoach, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins, Sister in Law, Dorothy Crapse.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and Two sons: Marion Wilson DeLoache Jr. and Edwin Davis DeLoach: Brothers: John Wilder Crapse, Marion Lee Crapse Sr. and Gene Crapse; and a Daughter in Law: Frances DeLoache.
Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Wednesday in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Dr. Jamie Norris, with burial in the Steep Bottom Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday beginning at 10 A.M. prior to the services at the Funeral Home, located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton.
