Virginia Dare (Crohn) Maxwell, 92, of Martinsville, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2021 in Bloomington. She was born January 2, 1929 to the late Enoch Edwin Crohn and Lola Opal (Sample) Crohn in Delavan, Illinois. On January 2, 1951, she married her husband, Dale Wayne Maxwell who passed away September 21, 2014. She was also preceded in death by her sister Mary Frances Crohn, and brothers Wayne Thomas Crohn and Warren Lee Crohn.
Virginia was a long-time member of Liberty Christian Church where she assisted with the 1st & 2nd grade Sunday School class for many years. She was a homemaker who enjoyed family, sewing, knitting, and crocheting.
She is survived by her children, Dennis (Pam) Maxwell of Martinsville, Lisa (Dirk) Ackerman of Ellettsville, Lori (Chris) Ferryman of Mooresville; grandchildren, Tara (Craig) Stewart, Leslie (Tyce) Carmichael, Meghan (Mark) Powers, Evan (Kelsey) Maxwell, Brooke (Jeff) Mackey, Taylor (Amie) Abram, Nick Ackerman, Hayley (Martin) LaBrecque; great grandchildren, Jonas Stewart, Finlea Stewart, Claire Carmichael, Callen Carmichael, Lydia Mackey, Evelyn Mackey, Alice Mackey, Hudson Abram, Rowan Abram, Crew Abram, Tanner Abram, Isaac LaBrecque, Simon LaBrecque.
Services for the family are private. Burial will be at Liberty Cemetery.
