Virginia (Ginny) Ann Bursh was born February 23, 1924 in Berwyn, Illinois to Zdenek and Anna (Havelka) Koller. She passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Golden Years of Walworth.
After WWII, Ginny went to work as a secretary at Western Electric's Hawthorne plant in Cicero. There she met her husband Tom and they were married in 1949. In 2014 Tom passed away after 65 years of marriage.
Ginny and Tom moved to Naperville in 1962 and stayed there until Tom's death. They loved Naperville and served in many different ways through the years as the town grew. Ginny was active with Little Friend's, the Naperville Heritage Society, the Naperville Settlement, Edward Hospital, and Nichol's Library, Ginny did volunteer work for Serendipity for Little Friends, and Edward Hospital, and she was one of the original "weed ladies" at the Naperville Settlement.
Ginny and Tom were members at Our Savior's Lutheran before transferring and helping start the mission at St. Timothy's Lutheran where they were charter members.
In later years, Ginny and Tom were active in Rotarians and traveled internationally with the group.
Ginny had a passion for music, bridge, gardening, cooking, and was a voracious reader.
Ginny is survived by her children Tom Bursh and Rick (Laura) Bursh; grandchildren Andy Bursh, Jenny Bursh, Brittney (Adam) Countryman, Nick Bursh, and Kelly (Matt) Timmons; great grandchildren Braden, Cody, Tyler, Carli, Soren, and Fynnigan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; daughter-in-law Dessie Bursh; brother John (Daisy) Koller; and great-grandson Weylin Timmons.
Services and interment at Naperville Cemetery will be at a later date and will be held privately.
