Virgie Rader Harris age 85 of Philadelphia, passed Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at the Wood's Nursing Home in Sweetwater. Virgie spent her whole life living on a farm. She was raised among her mother's people where she learned the importance of family and hard work. After retiring from Monterey Mushroom, Virgie spent her time cooking, gardening, raising chickens, enjoying her cats and dogs, and taking care of her favorite uncles until they died. Virgie had a heart of gold; she was a kind and gentle spirit who loved to laugh.
Virgie is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Viola (Sewell) Rader; brothers, Bob Rader and Roy Alan Rader; husbands, Ralph Snowden and Oscar Harris; special Uncle Bill Sewell, who was like a father to her.
Surviving Virgie are her cousins and caregivers, Ronald and Eugenia Sewell and their family. For much of Ron's life, Virgie was like a mother to him and a grandmother to his children. She has always been affectionately known as "My Vergie". She leaves behind a host of extended family members and friends.
A graveside service to honor Virgie will be held 10 AM Saturday July 6th in the Corinth Cemetery with Rev. Tim Gray officiating. The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Friday at McGill Click Funerals & Cremations, 1366 Highway 72 N, Loudon.

"Despite Virgie's passing, we shall seek peace and comfort knowing she is with the Lord. Even though we may not understand the why right now, we should rely on the truth that God is with all of us and she has now become one of His heavenly angels."
