Virgene "Jean" M. Kramer (nee Berard), 77 of Grafton, passed away July 18, 2022 unexpectedly but peacefully at home of natural causes.
Jean was born on July 29, 1944 in Wausau, daughter of the late Jerry and Annabelle (Kickbusch) Berard. She graduated from Newman High School, and married Peter (Pete) Kramer on June 24, 1967, in Wausau.
Jean and Pete lived in Madison for two years, North Plainfield, N.J. for five years, and then moved to Grafton in 1975. Jean worked as a bank teller and a homemaker, before retiring as a cashier from Shopko in 2006.
Jean is preceded in death by her husband Pete (2004), and survived by her son, Mike Kramer (Susie) of Mequon, daughter Sue (Kramer) Yass (Karl) of Port Washington, sisters Judy (Berard) Zilisch (Jeff) of Ringle, Linda (Berard) Gesicki (John) of Rothschild, Bonnie (Berard) Beyersdorff (Bruce) of Wausau, brother Jon (Kathy) Berard of Hudson, brother-in-law Scott Kramer of Madison, and grandchildren Madison Kramer (16), Emma Kramer (14), Hannah Kramer (11), Samantha Yass (14), and Dylan Yass (12).
A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022 at Mueller Funeral Home in Grafton. Family will receive friends and acquaintances beginning at noon, with a service to follow at 2 p.m. Her final resting place will be next to her husband, Peter Kramer, at Restlawn Memorial Park in Wausau, date and time T.B.D.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Marathon County Humane Society, or any local animal shelter.
