Violet Jeanette Allerkamp Ross passed away on April 10, 2022 in Manzanillo, Mexico.
She was born in Atascosa County, Texas on Oct. 3, 1932.
Raised on a South Texas farm, the values of hard work and the central role of family were instilled in her and carried throughout her life. Rising before dawn, "to catch the best part of the day" her work began early ? cooking, gardening, taking care of family and untold numbers of dogs, goats and chickens.
Violet married Donald Warren Ross in 1952 and they raised a family together.
She was aways busy at work, but enjoyed herself along the way, and never failed to make time for a family member or friend in need.
Her sweet smile and humorous heart made friends wherever she went, many that became life-long.
Her generous nature was a blessing to all who knew her. Her fun spirit, laughter and huge capacity to love will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her sons, Donald Ross, Jr. and husband, Michael; David Ross and husband, Brent; Derek Ross and wife, Dana; her daughter, D'Ann Ross and wife, Lorinda; her granddaughter, Maggie Ross Eklow and husband, Jesper; her brother, Gary Allerkamp and wife, Elaine; her nieces, Hazel Bond, Ann Little, April Bein, and her nephew, Ronnie Allerkamp.
Violet is preceded in death by her husband, Donald W. Ross; grandson, Dylan A. Ross; and her sisters/best friends, Helen Allerkamp Bond and Ruth Allerkamp Stillwagon.
Memorial service to be determined at a later date.
