Viola Faye Compton, 91, Markleton, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020 at UPMC Somerset. She was born February 25, 1929 in Markleton, a daughter of Charles "Skinny" and Zelda (Younkin) Sanner. Her parents, brothers, Everett, Dean, Darl and Terry and sisters, Alice Carpenter and Evelyn Wirsing preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Leonard B., Rest Assured Living, Meyersdale; a son, Dr. Gary Compton and wife, Brenda, Addison and a daughter, Glenda Johnson and husband, Steve, Markleton; grandchildren, Amy Wilt, Scott Compton and fianc?, Elisha Fazenbaker, Jason Johnson and wife, Nicole and Chad Johnson and wife, Beth; great grandchildren, Brianna and Paige Wilt and Macy Johnson; step great grandchildren, Makaylah, David and Riley Fazenbaker; brother, Pete Sanner and wife, Nancy, Rockwood and sister-in-law, Joyce Storer and husband, Robert, Hagerstown, MD. Faye was a member of the Kingwood Church of God, Ursina American Legion Post 946 Ladies Auxiliary, Trinity Chapter 138 O.E.S., Somerset, and a former member of the Mountaineer and Wheelers and Dealers Square Dancers. She was a graduate of Rockwood High School. The family would like to thank the staff and care givers of Rest Assured Living Center, Meyersdale for the exceptional love and care they showed to Faye. In observance of COVID-19 occupancy restrictions, a private viewing and funeral service will be held for the family with Rev. James Monticue officiating. Interment in Kingwood I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
