Private Funeral services for Vincent V. Stotz, 90, Aberdeen, SD, are 11:00am, Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, with Pastor Gary Compton officiating. Services will be livestreamed. Burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Military honors by Sidney L. Smith American Legion Post 24. Vincent died Saturday January 9, at Avantara in Ipswich, SD. Public Visitation is 3:00-7:00pm, Tuesday, at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home. Vincent V. Stotz was born May 30, 1930 to Reinhold and Adellia (Weisz) Stotz in Hosmer, SD. He grew up in Aberdeen where he attended grade school and graduated from Central High School. Vincent served in the Navy. His primary job was to bring officers to shore from the ship. On March 25, 1949, Vincent married Donna Henschel in Aberdeen. Vincent furthered his education, receiving a two-year degree from Northern School of Business. He worked with his father as a contractor for Stotz Construction and then for UBC and Lambert Lumber until his retirement. After retirement, he worked small construction remodel jobs. Vincent loved Donna a lot and took care of her until her death in 2017. Vincent was an avid bowler and outdoorsman. He enjoyed pheasant hunting and salmon fishing. He cherished vacations and outings with Tom and Dee. Vincent was a lifelong member of the Elks Lodge and First Baptist Church where he served as head of the building committee. He collected coins and stamps and enjoyed time with his family, especially his grandchildren. His quiet, kind, giving nature will be missed. The family gives thanks to Avantara Ipswich for the care given. Grateful for having shared Vincent's life are his children, Mike (Theresa) Stotz and Doug (Gail) Stotz; grandchildren: Alex (Sabrina) Tuttle, Brit Tuttle, Chris (Nichole) Tuttle, Sarah (Adam) Pugmire, Nicholas (Erin) Stotz, Benjamin Stotz, Charles Stotz; great-grandchildren: Leanna, Mickaela, Savannah, Pryce, Mason, Crue, Elijah, Kurtis, and Zachary; siblings: Zula Weber, Ellen Lester, Darrell (Janet) Stotz; and sister-in-law, Marlene Stotz. Vincent was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Kurt; brothers, Glenn and Clarence Stotz; sister-in-law, Clem Stotz; and brothers-in-law: Bill Lester and Jerome Weber. www.spitzerfuneralhome.com
