Rio Grande City resident, Victoria Lopez age 85, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, June 9th at Mission Hospital.
She was born on June 26, 1935, in Rio Grande City, Texas to Mateo and Rosa Lopez. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Ruben Lopez. Funeral services will be handled by Sanchez Funeral Home in Rio Grande City. A viewing will be held on Sunday, June 13th from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral mass to be held on Monday, June 14th at Immaculate Conception Church followed by burial at Rio Grande City Cemetery.
She is survived by her sisters, Rosa Maria Lopez and Cristina (Rene) Salinas, as well as nieces Veronica Molina, Leticia Salinas Kleypas, Celeste Molina Martinez, and nephews, Ramiro Molina III and Rene Salinas Jr.
Victoria began work as a teenager in the payroll department during the initial building of Falcon Dam. She held many clerical positions in Rio Grande City to include LFD furniture store, RGCCISD Multi-Purpose Center, and the Starr County Appraisal District from where she retired.
