Mrs. Victoria E. Horton, age 95 of McDonough, passed away October 29, 2020 while at her home and surrounded by her family. Originally born in San Juan, Puerto Rico to the late Encarnacion and Victoria Mares Vazquez, Victoria loved to help others and retired from Fulton County as a Spanish interpreter in 1990.
A devout Catholic, she was a parishioner of St. James the Apostle Catholic Church where she was also a member of the Divine Mercy prayer group. Known for being fiercely independent, charming, and quick witted, Victoria loved spending time with her family, especially her grandsons. While not at mass, she loved to cook, sing/dance, travel, take care of her pets, and keep up with current events.
Survivors include her daughters, Yonnie and Ray Guyre of Landing, NJ and Jeanne Carroll of McDonough, GA; grandsons, Rich Guyre of Jersey City, NJ and Harrison Carroll of Salt Lake City, UT; brother, Herb Vazquez of San Jose, CA.
