Victor Kataneksza, 83, passed away peacefully, Thursday, July 15, 2021 at MidState Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Krystyna (Owczarek) Kataneksza, his loving wife of 54 years. Victor was born in Poland, April 10, 1938, a son of the late Jan and Stefania (Kapal) Kataneksza. Victor was a longtime resident of Meriden and a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church. He was employed as a machine operator at Pratt & Whitney from where he retired in 2007. Victor loved spending time with his family; especially his cherished grandchildren. In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his daughter Nancy Bowden and her husband Craig of VA; his son Robert Kataneksza of Meriden; three grandchildren: Hannah Bowden, Jasmine Bowden, Maya Bowden; a sister Anna Machnik of Meriden; his brother Ted Kataneksza of Meriden and his sister-in-law Helena Kataneksza also of Meriden; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Felicia Piworowicz. His funeral will be held on Friday, July 23 at 10:30 a.m. from the Meriden Memorial Funeral Home, 450 Broad Street, Meriden, when the funeral cortege will proceed to St. Stanislaus Church for a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the Meriden Memorial Funeral Home.
