Vicky Lynn Frierson-Hinze, 77, (February 25, 1947 - July 16, 2024).
Every angel assigned for the ascension of the much loved Vicky Lynn Frierson-Hinze gathered at the end of the day on July 16, 2024, in Ft. Worth, Texas, and lifted her beautiful, sparkling soul up and into the presence of her Lord and her Savior, Jesus Christ. She was known well for her astonishingly solid faith and unshakeable, unwavering belief. She was always an inspiration and she was such a wonderful, 'wonder-filled' soul.
Vicky was also born at the end of the day, in Haskell, Texas, the county seat of a farm and ranching county north of Abilene, and placed into the arms of her farming and ranching parents, the late James Eugene 'Gene' Frierson and Geraldine Alzareda Lane-Frierson.
Vicky was the epitome of a spiritually based Christian, practicing 'the way' by living her life with compassion, forgiveness and love. She may have never fully know how powerful her innocence had been in her miraculous life, but those that met or knew her could always feel it. She had the power to 'reveal the truth' in every person she met throughout her life, a gift that came with her limitations.
She was a 1967 graduate of Steve F. Austin High School in Bryan, Texas and attended Blinn College in Brenham and Bryan, and received an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Development. She moved to Houston, Texas in 1969 and worked at the private elementary school, St. Michael's Lutheran Academy, in Downtown Houston where she met and married her husband, Willie Hinze, of Carmine, Texas. In 1976, they happily welcomed their only child, Mary Lee Hinze and continued to live in Houston until their move to Brenham in 1986.
Vicky was an avid folk artist that loved to paint animals, especially birds and pet portraits and loved to study art and visit galleries. She had a passion for color, for squirrel and bird watching, for feeding ducks, for feeding stray cats and especially for deliberately teaching small children how to keep their precious imaginations fully intact for as long as possible.
Vicky returned to Bryan in 1996 and worked as an employee at Country Day Care in Wellborn, Texas and in 2006, upon her retirement, she moved to Ft. Worth, Texas, to be near her daughter Mary and son-in-law, Vincent Joyce, and was warmly welcomed into the Joyce family as one of their own.
She made many, many friends at her wonderful assisted-living facility in Ft. Worth, becoming a well loved 'council member' and coordinator of many activities, including dog parades, themed pool parties, movie nights, many shopping, museum, gallery and theater excursions and wonderful in-house church activities, which always involved cookies. Vicky loved cookies. Every cookie was her favorite cookie and, no surprise to all of those that loved her, Easter was her most favorite holiday.
The family would like to gratefully thank the astonishing staff at River Park/Ridglea Assisted Living and the compassionate and caring hospice staff at Renaissance Park, both in the Ridglea area of Ft. Worth, Texas. The level of nourishing and compassionate care Vicky has received in the last 18 years has given her a life of pure joy and inclusion and in return, 'Miss Vicky' gave them her gifts of humor, curiosity, happiness, her 'why not' attitude and her beautiful, constantly caring spirit. She will be deeply, deeply missed in a multitude of the most magical and mystical ways. Her life was truly a living ministry.
Fly high, Vicky. The one true chariot has swung low to carry you home. Rest in beautiful, blissful, whole and perfect peace as you walk in spirit with the Lord. We all feel that another angel just got her beautiful wings and your glittering spirit will absolutely, always be in our hearts forever.
Vicky is survived by her daughter, Mary Hinze-Joyce and son-in-law, Vincent Joyce, of Ft. Worth, Texas, and sister Carol Jean Frierson-Conlee and brother-in-law, Craig D. Conlee, of Bryan,Texas.
