Vicente Benito Menchaca, 88, was welcomed into the arms of God on Tuesday, August 23, 2022. Vicente was born on December 5, 1933, to Victoriano and Maria Menchaca in Junction, Texas. He was the youngest of 5 children. Vicente graduated from Junction High School in 1951. He went on to serve in the United States Army as a medic under Spec.4. His tenure included a tour in Germany before ending in Arkansas. Vicente was honorably discharged after 2 years of service. He went on to work as an Engineer Technician V for the Texas Department of Transportation. He retired in 1995 after 30 years of service. Vicente also served as County Commissioner Precinct 1 in Junction for 8 years.
Vicente married the love of his life, Enedina Boone, on January 31, 1960. They shared 62 beautiful years of marriage. They built a life together and were proud parents to their children, Vickie and Vicente Jr.
Vicente's faith was a big part of who he was. He was a devout Catholic and proud member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Junction. His unwavering love and faith in Christ helped mold the foundation of his children and grandchildren.
Vicente was preceded in death by his parents, Victoriano and Maria Menchaca; brothers, Andres, Jesus, and Apolonio Menchaca; and one sister, Estella Menchaca Hernandez.
Vicente is survived by his loving wife, Enedina Menchaca; daughter, Vickie Ramirez and husband, Felix, of San Angelo; son, Vicente Menchaca Jr. and wife, Sabrina, of Georgetown; grandson, Victoriano Ramirez and wife, Maria, of San Angelo; great-grandson, Victoriano Ramirez, Jr.; daughter, Randi Herbst and husband, Charles, of Junction; and grandsons, Zachary, Brady, and Carter Herbst. Also surviving Vicente is a special granddaughter, Risa Cantu, of Junction.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the medical team who took great care of Vicente, including, Dr. Ralph Wurster, Dr. Rudy Haddad, Dr. Chris Haddad, Melissa Hogg, Jennifer Price, Bailey Baker, Nick Hernandez, Paige Alcantar, Paige Blanco, and Joshua Jones.
Vicente was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He took great pride in those titles and his family was his heart. His love and legacy will continue to live on forever through his family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 17, 2022 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Junction with Father Albert Ezeanya as Celebrant. Interment will follow at N.E. Junction Cemetery.
Visitation will be held 6-8:00 PM, Friday at Kimble Funeral Home with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM.
The family has requested masks be worn at all services. Thank you!
