Verta Grace Howell Bennett

Verta Grace Howell Bennett, born January 27, 1933, grew up in East Atlanta, a 53 year resident of Conyers, GA, passe away in Newnan, GA on January 3, 2026, at the age of 92.

She lived and worked in Atlanta after high school at Avon's headquarters and then J.H. Tull in accounts receivable after which she became a full-time mom. She is preceded in death by her husband John E. Bennett, parents, Cleo McWhorter Howell and Jewell H. Howell and many family members.

She was a member of Conyers Church of God since 1999 and served weekly in the church office for over two decades. She dearly loved Jesus, her pastors and her church family.

She is survived by her son, Michael L. Harrington of Franklin, GA and daughter, Sharon H. Howard (Mike) of Newnan, GA. Also, her cousin Allen Barber, nephews, Shane (Kim) Howell, Damon Howell, and great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 11 am -12 pm on Thursday, January 8, 2026, with services following in the chapel at Scot Ward Funeral Services, 699 American Legion Rd., Conyers, GA 30012.
