Mrs. Veronica St. John Wheeler, 97, of Pittsfield MA., passed away at her home on Monday, July 18th, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Adams, MA. on May 27, 1925, the daughter of the late Edmond and Veronica Gavin St. John, she graduated from Adams High School in 1943 and later from St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing.
Veronica worked as a registered nurse for St. Luke's Hospital and also did private duty. She later worked for Berkshire Medical Center where she retired from after many years of dedicated service.
Among many things, she enjoyed her pets, gardening, bird watching and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children Michael and Vicki Wheeler, Kevin Wheeler, Susan Wheeler, Robert and Dawn Wheeler, Patricia Wooliver (Michael), James Wheeler, Sheila Wallace (James), Janet Buffis (Joseph), and Christopher Wheeler. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers Ben St. John, Edmond St. John, Charles St. John and her sister Margaret Brown. She was also predeceased by her great grandson.
Funeral services for Mrs. Veronica St. John Wheeler will be Tuesday, July 26th, 2022, with liturgy of Christian Burial at 11am at Sacred Heart Church, celebrated by the Rev. A. Peter Gregory, Pastor Emeritus of St. Charles Church. There will be no calling hours per request of Ronnie.
