Vernon Clark, age 72, of Waynesburg, Kentucky, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 29, 2021, in Liberty, Kentucky. Born Saturday, February 18, 1950, in Casey County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Garner & Juanita Durham Clark. His loving wife, whom he married Saturday, June 29, 1974, is Linda Floyd Clark of Waynesburg. Vernon was an employee of the Casey County School System for 25 years. During his career, he worked his way up to Superintendent for four years. After retiring from the school system, he became a School Board Member for several years. Vernon was a member of Mount Olive Christian Church and most recently attended Southland Christian Church with his children. In addition to his wife, Vernon leaves behind one son, Dr. Todd Vernon Clark (Shannon) of Jessamine County, Kentucky; one daughter, Dr. Angela Clark Durham of Fayette County, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Presley Durham, Hudson Clark, Asher Durham, Owen Durham, and Ava Clark; one sister, Joyce Goodlett (Tim) of Liberty; and several nieces and nephews and other extended family members and friends who mourn his passing. In addition to his parents, Vernon was preceded in death by three brothers, Earl Clark, Steve Clark, and Eddie Clark. A Public Graveside Service was held 3:00PM Sunday, April 3, 2022, at the shelter of Salyers Cemetery. Bro. Greg Powell officiated the service. Burial immediately followed the service. Following the graveside service, a gathering of family and friends took place at Vernon & Linda's home.
