Vernell Lena Mertz

Vernell Mertz, 90, of Brenham, Texas, passed from this earth on Tuesday, May 23, 2023. Vernell was born on October 24, 1932 to Waldemar and Etta Noak in Round Top, Texas.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 30th, at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham with family present from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 31st, also at Memorial Oaks Chapel, with Pastor Charles Parnell officiating. A private burial for family will follow.

Vernell is survived by sons, Welton Mertz, Jimmie Mertz (Sue), Glenn Mertz, Darrell Mertz, Mark Mertz (Theresa); daughters, Karen Dittfurth (Steven), Melissa Baginski (Mike), and Loretta Mertz. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 1 sister. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Elo Mertz and her son, David Mertz as well as her parents, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
