Verleen Shallenberger, 83 of Walnut Creek, Ohio passed away August 28, 2021 at Walnut Creek Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. She was born July 25, 1938 in Canton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Arthur and Rachel Domer (Hines). On August 3, 1957 she married Ramon Shallenberger. Together they shared 64 years of marriage. A graduate of Jackson High School, Verleen was employed at Nickles Bakery Bakery for 18 years, traveled to Grand Canyon national park, spent 23 years with her husband in his assignments to various military bases, lived at the various military bases starting out at Loring AFB ME, Bergstrom AFB Austin TX, Bunker Hill AFB, IND, Fairchild AFB, Spokane, WA, Andrews AFB Camp Springs, MD. Her proudest achievement was bearing four children. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, and sisters. She is survived by her husband Ramon Shallenberger, four children, nine grand children, and five great grandchildren. Thank you to Walnut Hills Nursing Home for your care.
A Celebration of Verleen's Life will be held Friday Sep. 10 at 1:00 PM at Smith-Varns Funeral Home 115 Andreas Dr. NE Sugarcreek, OH 44681. In Lieu of Flowers please donate to the Walnut Hills Nursing Home. Adams Mason 330-535-9186.
