Mrs. Veneida "Hope" Spencer 92 of San Benito, Texas passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 16, 2020 at Sunshine Haven Hospice.
Hope was born to Thomas and Essie Welch in Arkansas on April 13, 1927.
She spent her childhood in West Point, Arkansas until she married Bernard "Ben" Spencer January 15, 1946. They spent the first years of their married life in various towns while Ben served as a Sergeant in the United States Army. After Ben retired from Unisys, they resided in West Point, Arkansas and then to the warm climate in San Benito, Texas.
Hope is survived by her children, Carol Spencer Morris, David L. Spencer, Kathy S. Miller and son in law Warren Miller, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren and her brother Thomas E. Welch, Lafayette, Louisiana . She is preceded in her death by her her husband, Ben Spencer,
her parents, Tom and Essie Welch and a brother Lawrence Welch.
A private service was held for Hope. After cremation the scattering of the ashes will be as per her wishes.
The family is grateful for the condolences, in lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Sunshine Haven, Inc., Olmito, Texas, a non profit which provides care and comfort for terminally ill patients.
