Troy "Doug" Bronson left us too soon on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at the age of 67.
He was a resident of Haines City, FL but spent the majority of his time with his wife, Kathrine, at The Ranch he loved which is in Osceola County, FL as well as his home on Little Gasparilla Island located in Charlotte County, FL.
Doug was born July 15, 1956, in Orlando, FL to loving parents Troy "Stuart" Bronson and Ina "Ruth" Murphy Bronson.
He was predeceased by his MOTHER; Ina "Ruth" Bronson; BROTHER; David Shane Bronson; STEPSON, Mark Anthony Fillyaw.
Doug leaves behind his WIFE; Kathrine Bronson, FATHER; Troy "Stuart" Bronson, SISTER; Margaret Marie Coressel, and husband David Coressel, sister-in-law, Patricia Bronson. CHIDREN; Margaret Michelle Bronson Sewell, and husband John Sewell, Kara Lynn Hurst, and husband Jeffrey Hurst and Brittany Declue Bronson. STEPCHILDREN; Josh Randel Fillyaw; STEPDAUGHTER-in-law, Stacey Fillyaw, Tommy Addison, and wife Judy Addison, David Addison, and wife Beth Addison. GRANDCHILDREN; Garrett Walker Bray, Justin Clay Williams, Mason Hurst, Nolan Hurst, Devin Fillyaw, Landen Fillyaw, Gavin Fillyaw, Callen Fillyaw, Cohen Fillyaw, Shelby Fillyaw, Rylon Fillyaw, Brent Addison, Thomas Addison, and Dalton Addison; LIFELONG FRIEND, Kevin Cutts.
He had a passion for people, ranching, farming, and writing. He is the author of a book titled Simple Man Simple Life and was working on another book with hopes of getting it published. Doug had several articles published in the Canada Free Press.
He opened Hot Shot Maintenance around 1989 before coming back and operating the chicken farm in St. Cloud, FL in 1991. He remained there until the farm was sold in the late 90's. Once the farm was sold, he continued with Hot Shot Maintenance.
Doug never met a stranger and most walked away with an admiration and love for the man unexplainable. He had a larger-than-life personality and had influenced so many lives.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 20, 2024, from 10:30 am until the funeral at 11:00 am, all at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City. The internment will immediately follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Haines City.
