Travis Luney, 48, passed away Monday, December 28, 2020, in Overbrook, Kansas.
Travis was born November 15, 1972 in Salina, Kansas to Charles E. "Sonny" and Mary L. (Corbin) Luney. He grew up in Gypsum and graduated from Southeast of Saline High School in 1991.
Travis attended Hutchinson Community College for one year before entering the workforce. He started working at Tony's Pizza in Salina. He then worked for Goodyear in Topeka and moved to Overbrook to work at Ottawa CoOp Feeds there. Most recently he was working at the Wal-Mart Distribution Center in Ottawa.
Travis loved animals, and enjoyed attending Royals games. He was also a Dallas Cowboys fan, and liked Nascar. He liked country music and took his mother to several concerts.
Travis is preceded in death by his father, Sonny, and a sister, Stacy Jo Luney.
Travis is survived by his mother, Mary Luney, of Burlington; a brother, Scott Luney (Debbie), Salina; sister, Paige Sipp (Tom), Wichita; nieces, Brittany Sipp, Kansas City, MO, Lindsay Brockelman, Lebo, and Brooklyn Sipp, Wichita; nephew, Brogan Sipp, Wichita; other relative and friends.
Graveside services will be 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 5, 2020, at Logue Cemetery. Travis will lie in state Tuesday until service time. Memorial contributions can be made to Helping Hands Humane Society and may be sent in care of Jones Funeral Home, P.O. Box 277, Burlington, KS 66839.
