On May 2, 2018, Tracie Charrene Lyon passed away and returned to her Father in Heaven. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, and mother. Tracie was born December 22, 1961 in La Mesa, California to Ray and Diane Preston. Growing up she lived in California, Oregon, Utah and Hawaii. Her family put down roots in Utah in 1975 and she graduated from Orem High School in 1980. In high school she was active in the Unified Studies program where she gained life-long friendships, a thirst for adventure, and a reverence for nature and all of God’s creations.
Tracie had four children with her first husband, Michael Kuligowski: Stefan, Kalia, Adam, and Lukas. Mike was employed by the US State Department, and Tracie had the opportunity to live in Nigeria, Honduras, South Korea and Saudi Arabia.
Tracie was a free spirit, always looking for joy. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. She was an avid Disney fan, frequenting Disneyland and Disney World. She gathered her extended family to Disneyland for the 50th and 60th Anniversaries. Tracie had a great ability to make everything a fun adventure.
Tracie found a kindred spirit in her second husband, Todd Lyon. They were married in January 2017 at the Aviation Museum of New Hampshire. They were always looking for new ways to share experiences together. They attended plays, swing music concerts, learned ballroom dancing, and often visited the Disney parks.
Tracie is preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Diane Preston, her ex-husband, Michael Kuligowski, and her children, Adam and Kalia Kuligowski. As our family struggles with the sudden passing of Tracie, we are comforted by the fact that she is reunited with so many of her family members.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 12, 2018 at the Orem City Cemetery, 1520 North 800 East, Orem, Utah. A visitation will be held at the Berg Mortuary of Orem, 500 North State Street, Friday, May 11 from 6-8:00 p.m. Family and friends are to meet at the grave on Saturday.
