Sumter, SC... Tory Hamilton Stucker, 69, beloved husband of 52 years to Dona Ruth Cullen Stucker, died Friday, August 4, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Tory was born in Long Beach, California, he was the son of the late Mary Ellen Laub Stucker and Alfred Wayne Stucker. He grew up in Orange County and enlisted in the U.S. Navy at 17. After bootcamp in San Diego, he married the love of his life. After flight school in Tennessee, they moved to his duty station in Pensacola, Florida till 1974. Continuing in his aviation career, he tested and co-piloted fighter jets. Afterwards, he became co-captain of the helicopter emergency fire crew. Tory moved back to Orange County with his family and retired from Northrop Grumman as a structural aircraft mechanic. Lived 47 years in Anaheim, California, before moving to Sumter, SC in 2021. He was an avid classic car enthusiast, stemming from his long-term membership with the BPOE#2046 Elks Lodge. He was a hobbyist in restoring and collecting many classic cars but loved his turquoise and white 57 Chevy Bel Air.
In addition to his wife Dona, he is survived by one son, Lary Stucker and his wife Kari of Franklin, Tennessee; one daughter, Tara Brooks and her husband Robert Brooks of Sumter, SC; step-mother Patricia LeMaster Cypress, California; one brother, Ronald Stucker and his wife Bernice of Bakersfield, California; one step-brother, Greg Peralta and his wife Karla of Reno, Nevada; two sisters, Nancy Chew and her husband Barry Chew of Lake Havasu, Nevada, and Erin Perry and husband Shawn Perry of SpringHill, Tennessee; one step-sister Denise Plotkin and husband Marty Plotkin of Spring Valley, California; ten grandchildren, Jacob, Madelyn, Jenna, Emma, Joshua, Jesiah, Jayden, Gerald, Haley and Theron; three great grandchildren, Braxton, Pasiley, and Alexander.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his stepfather, Don Lemaster, Father-in-law Donald Cullen, and Mother-in-law Delores Cullen.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at 12 pm at Bethel Methodist Church Oswego with Rev. Tim Whited officiating. Refreshments to follow.
An inurnment will be held on Monday, October 2, 2023, at 11:00 am in the Ft. Jackson National cemetery with military honors.
